…My goal was to create a small figurine of her with our little future dog and it should look like I’ve bought it from them.
This Christmas I wanted to created something really special for my wife as a gift. She loves since one year Momiji dolls from https://lovemomiji.com and wants to collect them. That’s why I decided to create her as a custom figurine in the style of Momiji. Even when the shapes are relative simple, it’s hard to get nice clean shapes without any uneven surfaces. Especially because my workflow is more on organic shapes. My goal was to create a small figurine of her with our little future dog and it should look like I’ve bought it from them.
I used ZBrush for modeling the figurine. To check which colors I want to use I rendered the result in Keyshot 9 which gave me the possibility to check quickly how different colors would look. After setting all the colors I printed the little doll on my Formlabs Form 2. I used a Tamiya Primer and sanded the doll again to get the best and smoothest result. After that I used different spray paint from Edding. I really like the finishing of them because they are not so shiny and have a really nice color finish on the surface. Also, the rose gold looks awesome with the metallic effect.
